Geoff Nuttall
Geoff was born in 1937 in Bury, and moved to Oldham in 1939. Having won a
scholarship at just 13 he then attended Oldham School of Art.
His interest in painting began when he started work at 15 as Apprentice
Poster Writer and Artist, although, he admits, most of his time was spent
cycling and the like!
Following his National Service he worked in Manchester at a large
Publicity and Display company making cinema posters, after which he went
into a business partnership which lasted 15 years, painting only
occasionally. It was only after opening his own business as a Poster Artist
and Writer that he has managed to dedicate more time to his painting..
Despite being very busy at work and having not entered very many
competitions Geoff has become one of the area's most popular artists, and
his beautiful local scenes are collected by many.
