Anne Fryers Anne was born in
Wakefield, West Yorkshire, grew up in the Lake District, and now lives in
Lowercroft, Bury. She began her studies at Manchester College
of Art and Design in 1965, graduating in Textile Design, and gained a
certificate in Education in 1970. She then taught at the Adelphi Girls
Grammar School in Salford until 1973. It was during the
1990's that Anne began to paint seriously and has been exhibiting ever
since, winning many competitions along the way. She is also an elected
member of The British Water Colour Society and was elected as fellow of the
International Guild of Artists in 1996. Initially Anne
started painting flowers and landscapes but as her confidence grew she
adopted a much richer palette of colours and adapted to varying styles. Anne
now specialise in colourful seaside subjects or sun drenched scenes of
France and Italy, glowing with warmth. She also enjoys
creating more complex compositions which are semi abstract with colours
which overlay each other. These incorporate shapes which suggest the
architecture of Venice or Southern Italy, and are often embellished with
gold. |
